RE;CORD is a project for the rehabilitation of the artist residences at the Villa Medici, designed to offer an immersive and functional experience for the musician-composer. The space is structured around a dual-box concept : one dedicated to work and the other to rest, ensuring an optimal balance between concentration and relaxation.
Polycarbonate is the central material of the project. Used for partition walls and circulation, it provides lightness and transparency, maintaining a sense of openness and fluidity despite the compact nature of the space. In contrast, the use of wood introduces a sense of weight and warmth, grounding the design and creating a tactile balance between heaviness and lightness. This refined design ensures a seamless organization, where each function finds its place in a harmonious balance between isolation and openness.
