Seonchamji is a rehabilitation project of an old building from the Saint Vincent de Paul hospital, transformed into a dynamic space that fosters exchanges and creativity. Following its closure, the city of Paris launched anambitious initiative to revive this space by creating a sustainable environment that respects its history. Located at the entrance, this project emphasizes social diversity by offering various types of housing for residents with different profiles.

Designed as a community hub, it combines individual freedom and collective experience through a two-level organization :
Ground Floor – Café : An open space for everyone, offering various areas – coworking, private zones, group tables, and open seating– allowing each person to choose their preferred ambiance.
First Floor – Ceramics workshop : A ceramics workshop where visitors can participate, experiment, create, and engage with the artist, there by enhancing social connections through artistic practice.

The Hanji paper partitions, a central element of the project, structure the space while diffusing natural light softly and providing acoustic insulation. Three types are integrated :
1. Partitions with adjustable vertical openings in three stages (in front of the windows)
2. Horizontal sliding partitions (to modulate spaces)
3. Fixed partitions (to structure certain areas)

This building offers clearly defined spaces to meet the varied needs of activities, carefully separated by Hanji partitions. This transformation provides an immersive and modular experience, where choosing means taking ownership of the space, and participating involves creating and sharing.
