This project involves the rehabilitation of the former Maison d’arrêt de Riom prison.
It aims to offer visitors a variety of experiences, emphasizing the freedom of choice and creativity. It includes an exhibition hall that hosts events renewed every 5 to 6 months, each with its own unique atmosphere. Some spaces are designed with inverted concepts to reinforce the idea of choice. The creation of the spaces is based on a walkway, playing with height and offering different perspectives through the use of wooden slats.
The rooms, transformed into hotel-like spaces, maintain an ambiance similar to the original while incorporating straight lines with wooden slats and curved lines, creating a visual contrast and reversing architectural typologies.
